A Monday Walk in the Park

Monday, July 10

After a busy week, I was not inclined to go far, or do much, but David and Cindy mentioned lunch and I remembered Fruitlands Museum, which is situated with a great view of the Nashua River Valley and surrounding mountains, once the site of an unsuccessful utopian community.  We have toured the buildings with Hudson Rier School paintings, Shaker and Indian Artifacts, and relics of the transcendentalists in the past, so today just enjoyed the bucolic views and a lovely lunch under their outdoor canopy.

You do not see wildflowers, or even cultivated and planted ones like these in Florida, and they are so
bright and cheery!

Purple cone flowers, Echinecea, good for colds and enjoying in the garden!

We decided to walk at an arboretum after lunch, and enjoyed the walk and the fields and flowers.  These lilies seem to come in all colors in addition to the Tiger Lilies found growing wild everywhere.

A relaxing time under the trees on a lazy day.
