A side note about lack of modern technology!

July 28, Thursday.....out of order, but just to keep track!

Fog!  Looks like a good chance for rain today, and the fog greeted me instead of that glorious sunshine of yesterday!  After days we rated 9 and a perfect 10, I guess we can’t complain too  much.  And it gives me some time to catch up on things!

Our service in Ellsworth, where we camped to see Acadia, was spotty, but here in Eastport, the easternmost city in the US, we discovered we are in an international area, and incur big roaming charges!  So we have turned our data off on our cell phones, and use the camp wifi, which they have restricted to 30 minutes a day!  You soon realize how much you use your phone, when you can’t!   I find I use it a lot for maps when we are traveling, as it is more dependable than the car’s GPS, and also to check ahead of time where we are going, and often just to see where a town or attraction is.  Then of course, there is always some question that pops up that google could immediately provide the answer for......    to think we didn’t have these devices 12 years ago, and now are so dependent on them!  We are relying on paper maps, and asking directions at gas stations!! Like the good old days!

My blog has taken a back seat to catching up on email, and a quick look at Facebook, but today I decided to write it in word processing, and see if I can cut and paste into the blog, which does not offer the option to working off line.  Pictures will have to wait, I think.

A discovery this morning, in looking at photos from Tuesday evening, is that we have an Eagle Nest with a baby in view of the coach!  I saw the eagle go to the nest that night, and it is pretty far away, but I snapped a shot anyway.   When I blew up that photo this morning, it was apparent there was another bird in the nest!  Grabbing the binoculars, I looked, and there was the baby.....flapping his wings and walking up the branch above the nest, just like our baby herons did before they flew!  Wish this nest was that close,  or I had a mega lens, but he is visible as a small figure with the naked eye, and I was able to point him out to Clem, and it’s still pretty cool!

But I am getting ahead of myself!

In an effort to keep this in order of our adventures, I now need to back track to Sunday!
